Americans seem to go crazy for Thanksgiving. The turkey, the stuffing, the dinner prayer, the cranberry sauce. It’s really the one day a year when dinner prep takes an entire day.
Unfortunately for me, the day when most stuff themselves to bursting, I remain only somewhat satisfied. The reason being, I do not like Thanksgiving food. If turkey was replaced by lobster, and pumpkin pie by something decadent and chocolatey, that would be a whole other story, but traditional thanksgiving just doesn’t cut it.
Having finished my meal of fantastic kale salad at 3pm yesterday, I found I was hungry again at 7 pm, my dinner time. Thanksgiving being typically absent of chocolate, a chocolate smoothie seemed in order.
I first discovered these at a smoothie bar called Nectar in Del Mar. I am forever a changed chocoholic.
